Manager, Human Resources

Position Overview

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct recruitment effort for open and virtual bench positions, including writing job descriptions, working with hiring managers to screen and interview candidates and extending job offers
  • Provide resource planning support for the organization based on employee skillsets and capacity
  • Implement and annually update the compensation program, including rewriting job descriptions as necessary, conducting annual salary surveys and developing merit pool
  • Provide oversight and guidance for employee relations issues
  • Monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
  • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures, including preparing and maintaining handbook on policies and procedures
  • Administer payroll procedures, and resolve any payroll problems or discrepancies
  • Perform benefits administration, including approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, and answering employee benefit questions
  • Establish and maintain department records and reports
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the HR department and services performed
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws, including develop and maintain affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations


The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • SHRM-CP certification or equivalent preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies and systems
  • Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional task management and organizational skills
  • Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible when priorities shift
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations

Physical Requirements

Ability to carry 20 pounds, which may involve carrying project materials including program signs, presentation materials and equipment, such as a projector.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
