Position Overview

The Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing our digital communications across web, social media, and CRM/email. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications + Outreach, this role is focused on tactical digital channel management and driving traffic and engagement through creative and strategic content applications.


Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Communications & Outreach, to develop digital communications plans that grow and mobilize communities of donors, members, and building science and sustainability professionals.
  • Manage social and email content calendars, measure results and optimize accordingly.
  • Track social media followers and engagements.
  • Implement web content changes, report on site traffic and engagements.
  • Write, edit and/or proofread copy across stakeholder and customer-facing content, including website, blog, email, social, one-sheets, case studies, white papers, press releases, presentations, etc.
  • Manage content production in coordination and collaboration with team members across the organization.
  • Interest in social/political/economic issues that impact our organization.
  • Stay up to date on latest trends in digital marketing and determine how to apply them to our channels for greatest impact.

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in digital, email, and/or social media marketing.
  • BA/BS degree in Communications or Marketing preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt content into digestible bites for social media and email communications.
  • Experience with WordPress and HootSuite preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media analysis tools, Google Analytics, A/B testing a plus.
  • Understanding of keyword strategy, SEM and SEO a plus.
  • Experience with paid social and Google adwords a plus.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task, manage deadlines, prioritize, and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office applications required.
  • Ability to listen to and interact with a diverse group of people.
  • Creative, collaborative, and positive team-building demeanor.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM'5:30PM, with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours. Most Southface staff are working remotely currently due to the pandemic, though office is accessible to those who prefer it.
