Internship Overview

Southface Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, is leading the way toward a sustainable, equitable and healthy built environment for all. Since 1978, our programs have closed the gap between environmental awareness and action by promoting scalable resource efficiency and clean energy solutions for homes, workplaces and communities.

As Southface's Google Ad intern, you will play an active role in advancing our mission; gain valuable knowledge about non-profits by supporting fundraising and marketing efforts; and help educate a wide audience about our vision of a healthy environment for all, achieved and sustained by innovation and equity in the communities we build together. By the end of your internship, you will have established a robust Google Ad program for Southface's mission-forward programs.

Development & Marketing at Southface

The development and marketing teams at Southface work collaboratively to advance our mission through philanthropic investments and overall brand awareness. Through Google Ad grant efforts, your internship will support a collaborative effort to drive philanthropic investments of all sizes by creating unique ads and driving mission-centric messaging on a broad scale.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university or certificate program working towards a degree or certificate in the field of engineering, environmental sciences, architecture, or sustainability.
• Understanding of Google Analytics and Google Ad Grants.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Social Media metrics a plus.
• Organized with strong analytical skills.
• Educational understanding of sustainable environments, resource efficiency, resilience and other similar strategies for improving people's lives
• Ability to work an average of 20-40 hours per week from August 22 - December 15th.

Responsibilities

By the end of your internship, you will be able to provide a presentation that reviews Google Ads, evaluates current metrics and suggests opportunities for growth through Google Ad grant utilization, and helps guide Google Ad grants through 2024. This will be accomplished through:

• Evaluation of current analytics and develop a Google Ad program for Southface. May include membership/donor analysis, social media review, email performance reviews, etc. to help create comprehensive ads that drive engagement.
• Creation of an annual calendar to maximize Google Ad efforts (up to $10,000 a month in donated ad services), with focus on key giving opportunities (e.g. Southface's founding anniversary, Giving Tuesday, Year-End Giving, GoodUse grantee announcements, etc.)
• Work with both development and marketing to understand mission-forward programming, how consumers can be involved, and develop parameters for Google Ad grants.
• Additional opportunities may include database administration, membership outreach, event support, and other key efforts that will ultimately help you understand Southface programs and efforts.

Physical Requirements

May require visits to a construction site. Walking. Reaching. Bending. Ability to lift 20 pounds.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
