Team Overviews

The Multi- team Program Coordinator will primarily support the education and policy teams with additional cross team support as needed.

We believe the transition to a successful regenerative economy requires a well-trained and educated workforce ready to solve complex problems and implement solutions. Our Education team develops curricula and delivers trainings that empower current and future generations of the workforce to catalyze the transition.

Our policy practice champions the state and local policies that propel the transition to a regenerative economy. Policy can transform society, and we work with our partners to influence data-driven, rigorous approaches to a carbon positive future through engagement of communities, advocates, industry, and policymakers.

Position Overview

Project Coordinators are key contributors in the success of our projects and work closely with Project Managers and Program Managers. Primarily task focused, they lead the preparation and delivery of work that drives the regenerative economy. The Multi-team Coordinator is in a unique position to learn the hard and soft skills associated with the many divisions at Southface: education, research, advocacy, and technical assistance. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, format data, perform analyses and contribute to reports / position statements to support our education and policy work, including subject areas of clean energy and adopting distributed energy resources
  • Stay abreast of clean energy policy and sustainability planning initiatives at the city and state level
  • Monitor evolving national building and life safety codes with regard to opportunities or impediments to the transition from a linear economy to a regenerative one
  • Provide consultation and assistance to developers, elected officials, local governments, counties, and other stakeholders on resource efficiency in the built environment and potential pathways to implement clean energy solutions
  • Support the coordination and delivery of projects and programs in education and policy work areas
  • Assist with developing and / or delivering white papers, reports, and other project materials
  • Provide general administrative support, including managing multiple email inboxes, voicemail and file management
  • Represent Southface in a variety of public forums

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor's or related degree
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field
  • Experience collaborating within multi-member project teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated professionalism
  • Exceptional task management and organizational skills
  • Proven to be a self-starter and results oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Collaborative, accountable and possess a positive team-building demeanor
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations

Physical Requirements

Ability to carry 35 pounds, which may involve carrying project materials including program signs, presentation materials and equipment, such as a projector.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday 8:30 AM 5:30 PM, with flexible options. Most Southfacers are working remotely due to the pandemic however, the office is accessible to those who need to utilize the space.
