Position Overview

Southface is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Program Coordinator supporting the Sustainable Cities team, helping advance local government sustainability initiatives. This will include support of clean energy and green building policy and planning processes, along with program support for the Care and Conserve Plumbing Repair Program (CCPRP). CCPRP is funded by the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management and provides no cost residential plumbing repairs and water conservation education to low and moderate income homeowners.

Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator position will provide administrative, customer service and outreach support for the Care and Conserve Plumbing Repair Program, along with support in sustainability policy and programming across Southface's initiatives with local government. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide general administrative support to CCPRP
    • Lead and support program outreach activities, including organizing virtual and in-person events
    • Provide customer service to clients through phone, email and in-person interactions
    • Lead the project operations process including maintaining customer database; physical file organization; coordination and relationship management with in-house plumber(s), plumber's helper and other subcontractors; customer and client relationships management; and review/approval of plumber and contractor estimates
    • Supporting health and safety assessments of clients' homes
    • Special projects, including research, mailings, quarterly reporting and maintaining program databases
  • Other tasks as necessary supporting the Sustainable Cities team such as
    • Sustainability policy research and analysis
    • Planning and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement strategy and activities at the local level

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Interest and/or experience in the environment, sustainability, or government preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and trust at all levels
  • Exceptional task management and organizational skills, able to prioritize across multiple issues
  • Comfortable switching between working collaboratively as part of a team and working autonomously as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations
  • Working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft office products and Adobe Acrobat

Physical Requirements

Normal office setting on most days. Occasional travel to education and outreach events and project sites.

Hours of Work

Maximum of 40 hours per week within standard work week of Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flexible work schedule options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
