Team Overview

The Technical Services team currently provides verification services for EarthCraft, LEED, National Green Building Standard, ENERGY STAR, Home Energy Rating System, Enterprise Green Communities and the current Georgia Energy Code. The team also oversees the administration of Southface Energy Rated Homes (SERH) including program management, development, outreach and marketing. The Technical Services team contributes to Southface research and advocacy activities through technical support and expertise. 

Position Overview

Southface is seeking a highly motivated, customer focused individual to join us as a Project Manager supporting the Technical Services team, primarily to manage Southface Energy Rated Homes (SERH) and the BIT Building program. SERH supports the residential energy efficiency industry through training, quality assurance of single- and multifamily energy models, and development of innovative quality assurance services.  BIT Building is a performance improvement framework providing building owners and operators with step-by-step best practice guidance, resources, advice from industry experts, peer connections and recognition for achieving performance improvements. Both programs support Southface's mission through active engagement with building design, construction and maintenance professionals, and skilled trades.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage quality assurance delivery for multiple HERS Raters under Southface Energy Rated Homes
  • Manage budgets and collaborate on developing business strategies
  • Administer the BIT Building program's regular activities
  • Identify emerging industry best practices to regularly improve BIT Building content
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators
  • Develop quarterly reports on key metrics
  • Lead program outreach and marketing activities
  • Provide customer service to clients through phone, email and in-person
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities
  • Special projects including research, initial data analysis, mailings, quarterly reporting and maintaining program databases
  • Other tasks as necessary supporting the Technical Services team

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business management, building construction, building science, inspections and testing, engineering, architecture or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional task and people management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations
  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • Certified HERS Rater is preferred

Physical Requirements

Normal office setting on most days. Occasional travel to conferences, meetings and trainings.

This position will also be expected to perform a moderate amount of fieldwork. Performing fieldwork involves extensive navigation in and around construction sites, buildings, attics and sites, as well as climbing ladders. Therefore, an applicant must possess physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
