Project Overview
The Sustainable Communities and Transportation (SCT) team focuses on clean energy plans, transportation electrification, and connecting the built environment to clean transportation solutions--including work through a separate non-profit, Clean Cities Georgia, that contracts work to the SCT Team. Clean Cities Georgia is an initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and is the central coordinating point for alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) activities in the state of Georgia. Our shared mission with the national Clean Cities Program is to advance the energy, economic, and environmental security of the United States by supporting local actions to advance cleaner vehicles, fuels, and infrastructure in transportation and mobility.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for managing and expanding multiple projects, including the Dekalb County Clean Energy and Transportation Plan, as well as the efforts of Clean Cities Georgia.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with electrification grant projects and activities
- Manage SCT projects
- Identify and assist stakeholders interested in adopting alternative fuels, advanced vehicles, and energy efficiency strategies
- Educate potential AFV users, industry, and local decision-makers
- Obtain commitments from stakeholders to build markets and conduct outreach
- Work with local, regional, and national stakeholders; peers; and industry to identify funding opportunities for projects
- Understand the reporting and purchasing requirements for regulated fleets and know the local contacts
Qualifications
The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Environmental Planning, System Engineering, or other related degree
- Two to five years of successful project management experience
- Experience managing multiple grants and familiarity with grant funding and reporting
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness
- Willingness to seek new opportunities to expand the programs
- Exceptional task management and organizational skills
- Microsoft office proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor
- Valid driver's license with no major violations
Preferred but not Required
- Interest and experience in transportation and alternative fuel vehicles
- Certified Energy Manager or similar
- LEED Green Associate Accreditation
- Consulting experience
- Federal and state grant experience
- GIS
- Community engagement skills
- Public presentation skills
- Networking and relationship building skills
Physical Requirements
Some light lifting is required to manage events, reposition event furniture, carry supplies, etc.

Hours of Work
Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
