Position Overview
The Senior Accountant role is responsible for performing accounting and financial functions. This position is full-time and reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for providing information to outsourced accounting firm to record transactions
- Assist outsourced accounting firm with preparing, reconciling, and resolving any discrepancies identified during the monthly close process
- Manage the Accounts Receivable collections process
- Audits and verifies generated vendor payment reports
- Assist with planning, formulating, execution, and maintaining the budgets for all departments
- Review and reconcile grants receivable balance monthly
- Provide monthly budget and project reports to Department Directors
- Work with the Development Department to provide timely and accurate program finance reports to be submitted to funding agencies
- Manage the grant information in Sage Intacct to ensure information is updated and complete and available for internal and external audits as needed
- Promote and provide consistent communication and outreach to customers and vendors
- Assist with the preparation of the financial audit
- Responsible for the accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting for Clean Cities and SAE
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:
- Degree in accounting with a minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior non-profit organizational experience required
- Grants Accounting experience required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM
- Solid analytical and organizational skills
- Flexible to changing priorities
- Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor

Hours of Work
Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
