Position Overview

The Technical Project Manager will provide vital technical expertise and support to various programs offered by Southface. Specific responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform, manage, and review complex resource efficiency audits and reporting
  • (ASHRAE level 2 equivalent)
  • Using Southface protocols, perform, manage, and review indoor air quality assessments and reporting
  • Consult with internal and external clients on sustainability issues related to building systems, performance, and occupant behavior
  • Set up, populate, and monitor ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager accounts for data integrity and support energy assessments
  • Perform energy modeling analysis and reporting for certification requirements, conceptual design analysis and refinement and performance evaluations

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in the fields of mechanical or electrical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainable environments, resource efficiency, resilience, and other similar strategies for improving people's lives
  • Experience in conducting and leading resource efficiency assessments
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time at minimum is required.
  • Field experience in design, construction, retro-commissioning, building controls, and HVAC and/or lighting design is preferred
  • Research and technical report writing experience is a plus
  • Experience with solar installations, assessments, and specifications is a plus
  • Ability to manage and prioritize project deadlines
  • Collaborative and positive demeanor
  • Experience effectively working with the general public a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Southface's mission
  • Valid driver's license is required

Physical Requirements

Performing fieldwork involves extensive navigation in and around construction sites, buildings, attics and sites, as well as climbing ladders. Therefore, an applicant must possess physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
