Team Overview

The Program Implementation (PI) team provides verification services for EarthCraft, LEED, National Green Building Standard, ENERGY STAR, Home Energy Rating System, Enterprise Green Communities and the current Georgia Energy Code. The team also oversees the administration of Southface Energy Rated Homes (SERH) including program management, development, outreach and marketing. The PI team contributes to Southface research and advocacy activities through technical support and expertise.

Position Overview

Southface is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Technical Project Manager supporting the PI team. Candidates should be familiar with building science principles, building performance standards and building development and construction. The ideal candidate will have educational or work experience in the multifamily residential development field.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects that are pursuing one or more building-level certifications, including EarthCraft, LEED, NGBS, ENERGY STAR, and/or EGC
  • Serve as a technical lead for project diagnostic testing, including whole building infiltration and HVAC duct leakage testing
  • Record all project information and inspection notes into a database and track project progress towards achieving certification
  • Assist with quality assurance activities, including file reviews of project submittals and energy models and field reviews of individuals who participate with Southface programs
  • Provide support for Southface technical educational programs
  • Assist with business development opportunities, including contract writing and responding to requests for proposals
  • Provide high-quality customer service to clients
  • Other tasks as necessary supporting the Southface team

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in building or environmental science, building construction, civil or structural engineering, architecture, or related field
  • Active industry professional certifications, such as Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) and/or the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and EarthCraft Technical Advisor
  • Demonstrated efficient project management skills
  • Proficiency and experience with residential and/or commercial building-level energy modeling software preferred
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; MS project or other scheduling software a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving history

Physical Requirements

Performing fieldwork involves extensive navigation in and around construction sites, buildings, attics and sites, as well as climbing ladders. Therefore, an applicant must possess physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
