Position Overview

The Technical Project Manager will provide vital technical expertise and support to various programs offered by Southface Sarasota. Specific responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform, manage, and review complex resource efficiency audits and reporting (ASHRAE level 2 equivalent)
  • Using Southface protocols, perform, manage, and review indoor air quality assessments and reporting
  • Consult with internal and external clients on sustainability issues related to building systems, performance, and occupant behavior
  • Set up, populate, and monitor ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager accounts for data integrity and support energy assessments
  • Perform energy modeling analysis and reporting for certification requirements, conceptual design analysis and refinement and performance evaluations
  • Interface with local energy efficiency businesses to determine market and partnerships, including networking and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainable buildings, resource efficiency, resilience, and other similar strategies for improving people's lives
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 40% of the time at minimum is required
  • Willingness to travel to Atlanta, GA and nationally for periodic trainings and in-person meetings is required
  • Experience in conducting and leading resource efficiency assessments is preferred
  • Field experience in design, construction, auditing, or retro-commissioning of building controls, HVAC systems, and/or lighting systems is preferred
  • Research or technical report writing experience is a plus
  • Experience with solar installations, assessments, and specifications is a plus
  • Ability to manage and prioritize project deadlines independently, with minimal supervision
  • Collaborative and positive demeanor
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience effectively working with the public is a plus
  • Demonstrated commitment to Southface's mission
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements

Performing fieldwork involves extensive navigation in and around construction sites, buildings, attics and mechanical rooms, as well as climbing ladders. Therefore, an applicant must possess physical dexterity, endurance, and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
